10 elephants

I started drawing elephants as strange as I could, I lost track of time I was having so much fun so I really don't know how long it took me to do it, just that I really enjoyed it.

random numbers and color study

Okay, I was wanting to do a color study and didn't know what to paint so I came up with a number system. I wrote out like some numbers and then assigned letters to them accordingly with where they fit in the alphabet, so A=1. The numbers that where over 24 I added together until they where less than 26. my numbers where5 3 7 9 7 or "ecgig". I did a google search and 9 entries pulled up and this color study is of one of those pictures, and I focused more on the color than on the accuracy of the drawing.

This is my very first color study with painting in photshop. It's really challenging to paint in photoshop when you have no idea how to do it. That being said after like 15 minutes of trying to paint I started to figure some stuff out so that now I have a much better understanding of way to paint with photoshop and my next entry should be even better.
What's strange with the numbers that I choose and then added together to make smaller ended up being my birthday, I just barely realized that, strange.

give me a Hug

I wanted to try and do the text as part of the illustration just to see what it would be like. Again I just drew whatever popped into my head. Maybe it's my subconscious giving me hints to take care of my inner child or that I need to get more hugs in my life.

Pizza Guy

I originally made this for Thursday post but ended up re inking it because I didn't like the first version I made. I think this one turned out alright.
I wrote out a big list of things that people say to me as I walk some where to make a delivery because I hear it so often I thought others might be interested-okay maybe not interested but that's what you do with life's annoyances right, you make them into comic strips.

old man and seal

I just felt like drawing whatever came out of my hand this time and this is what I drew. I am still working on an inking style I really like and I think it's coming together however I still have a lot more practicing before I get some style(s) I really like.

Mortifer

This poor guy is experiencing puberty (What's happening to my body?!)

Dance floor

I just had our weekly dance party that we hold at my house every Wenesday night. Fresh from dancing for an hour I wondered what it would be like to draw a comic strip with different poses. Drawing people dancing is interesting because real life dancing is a series a different poses put together in an energetic way and simply getting a freeze frame of a pose for a drawing takes away from the dance it's self. That being said I still think this turned out all right but I may try again because I feel I can do better than this.

Wind

After I drew her, I realized that I need to include more drama or interest in these 23 minute drawings. Such bland details would work for quick sketches, but I need to better use my creativity. I'm convinced that drawing is only half the battle - The other half is concept and planning.
That being said, I don't hate it.

Necking

I like how the Vampire kind of looks like he is eyeing the Bishops neck

Adam makes me wonder

Adam's version of Wonder Woman inspired me to take a stab at her myself. When I tried that, she dodged my knife and wrapped me up with her golden rope and slapped me around. After that menagerie, I just decided to draw her.

A twig snapping

This is a true story, it happened to me a week ago.
I think it would be great if the girls I was walking with saw this comic strip and one girl talking to another said "Hey come check this out, you know how we thought we heard a twig snap last week. Well guess what it really was?"

A comic strip

Click on the comic to see the full size.

Something that I have been wanting to do for some time is create a comic strip a day, if for no other reason to practice the craft and improve. It's hard to do it everyday because I always think it's going to take tons of time. Well, I figured even though this would take more than 23 minutes I would post it anyway. I'm thinking of making a new rule for comic strip posting like, 123minmax or something like that. Anyway this comic was made in about 2 hours which for me is amazing considering it usually takes me like 4 or 5 hours or more. It helps alot to know I have limited time which requires me to focus more and not wander so much in random thoughts that waste time which I seem to do often. The blue was done to give it a little sence of color and depth without having to use alot of different colors. As well I know I need to use some type of font but I just like writing out the words so it fits the comic, I just need to get better at it.

Hannah wonders

In responce to Dane putting his Danewolf picture on facebook he has gotten numerous compliments and one girl Hannah told me last night she wanted one done of herself, so here is my drawing for her. I feel like I am not keeping in line with the 23 minutes though since this took me way more time than 23 minutes, maybe I should of just posted it on my blog instead and had no 23 minute posting. Oh well here it is.

Zelda's Hero's Torso

Here's Link striking a "slaying down" pose. I only had time to draw his uppers. That's what I call a torso now - uppers.
