It's about time I posted again, eh? For today's piece I decided to work with Mi-Teintes paper. I'm not sure how familiar you guys are with the paper, but I used it in a class at UVSC a few years ago. It's really quite a challenge at first to get the technique down. I had to do 3 drafts on the first attempt I did in that class. It's basically reversing you coloring technique, drawing the light only. But, it's fun. So, here's Ian McKellan as Magneto from X2: X-Men United. It took me a little longer than 23 minutes....

Jenny Lewis in Rilo Kiley

I just discovered that Jenny Lewis is the lead singer of Rilo Kiley, sang back up for some songs for Postal Service, and has a solo album. Well I did reconize Postal Service I didn't reconize her name or Rilo Kiley until I started listning to her music and discovered that I have a bunch of her music from all her bands she has sung with and most of them are songs that have the highest plays on Itunes. (I usually just go to recommended songs on Itunes and don't really pay attention to the name of the song just if it sounds good). Anyway in light of this discovery and my newly discovered obsession I drew a 23minmax of Jenny. Love ya Jenny!

I saw art in the graphic novel "Jimmy Corrigan" that I really liked and so I sort of copied the background and figured something had to be in the forground and that is where the cat and the ufo come from.

I watched American Idol tonight. I had just been drawing from a comic book called "Stupid Comics" by Jim Mahfood which is freakin sweet I might add. Anyway I was still in the mood for drawing and paused a couple times and drew Gina Glocksen and Jordin Sparks and really enjoyed it.

In drawing my comics one thing that has bugged me is the size of Ethan and all the characters. So I have been playing around with Ethan to see what he would he like at different sizes.
